Christian Bale is going to play Moses and where oh where are all the white people who are always so angry about race bending and historical accuracy??? Where are you??? Why are you not outraged??? I thought movies had to be historically accurate and races should never change from the source material???

The first posters for Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings, ahead of today’s trailer.

Um, no.

No. No. No.

Absolutely not.

Christian Bale can NOT be Moses. Christian Bale is whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite.

Looks like Ridley Scott followed the 1950s casting choices of The Ten Commandments.

So progressive! Look how far we’ve come.  White people are still the default in Ancient Egypt. Not only do the play the Hebrews, the also play the pre-Ptolemaic Egyptians.  Who cares about ~~historical accuracy~~???

So um…who’s playing Moses’ Sudanese Sub Saharan nomadic wife?

So Ronald Lee Haskell, a Caucasian man who murdered an entire family execution style including 4 children, was brought into police custody PEACEFULLY.

While Eric Garner a Black man who was SUSPECTED of selling loose cigarettes in front of a bodega was murdered by the police on SIGHT!

let’s remember this man was White, Caucasian is such a misused word it doesn’t mean the same as white

mollybee93: When I went on a study abroad in Panama, we ran into several of these guys in the rainforest. It’s called The Great Tinamou. Basically looks like a mourning dove inflated like a balloon. I’ve always loved fat birds and this has been one of the best fat birds I’ve ever seen. So glad there is a whole blog dedicated to them <3

Among young black men in America, about 10 percent are currently incarcerated. It’s shocking, but we’ve almost grown used to it.

But while those young men are in prison, what’s happening to their wives, girlfriends, mothers and sisters?

Eviction. A new study coming out of Milwaukee shows that eviction is for black women what incarceration is for black men. One in 20 households there are evicted every year. In predominately black communities, that rate doubles to 1 in 10 families.

USA: Eviction is for black women what incarceration is to black men

I'm black and I think I am racist against white people because I can't let go of slavery and segregation and all the unfairness that has followed. Hearing stories from my grand parents makes it worse. But I can't remember anything happening to me where a white person treated me differently. Do you have any advice on how to let go of the past and stop being racist?

Probably the first thing you need to do is stop being a racist white person who thinks he can fool people on the internet, because, sorry, you can’t. I guess the second step is stop thinking we’re as stupid as you are, because practically no one is. Step 3 is fuck off with this fake-ass bullshit, bye.

At what point do you take girls out of school altogether because boys can’t handle it?

Parent of a female teen whose school banned leggings

#yesallwomen have a right to an education without fashion policing by sexist administrators

(via meetingsinthedesert)

^ this, tho… the message in these ridiculous dress codes remains “boys deserve an undistracted education, and you-GIRL-are a distraction… and your education comes second. You should be grateful, anyway… it’s really more than you deserve.” and i actually am not going to repeat how it reinforces rape culture because really, i’m just so damn tired of the messages we send young women about being nothing more than an accesory in a man’s life… fuck that. and fuck awful myopic dress codes… (via ginandbird)

This parent is right.  The school is sending a message that girls’ clothes are supposed to distract boys; that boys can use them as an excuse, that girls when assaulted should blame themselves because they must have worn the wrong thing, because their clothes made them unfit to mingle with their peers.  Have I got that right? (rhetorical)
